This talk discusses some of the ways to avoid disasters with your database, and ways to recover from disasters if they occur.
We will discuss elements of a Disaster Recovery Plan, things to monitor, and tools that you should have on hand in case disaster strikes. Often consultants are called in when things go wrong and find missing analysis and connectivity tools, unmonitored databases, unchecked backups that either don’t work or aren’t up to date. At best this results in delay, at worst it makes recovery far more difficult or impossible. This talk is about avoiding such a situation.
